It has been a whirlwind week for the F puppies. They are growing so fast now that there are discernible differences between their photos from three days ago and those taken today. Heads are longer; legs are longer; they have fewer wrinkles. They are much more agile and active. We have worked on a lot of socialization exercises, and we put some of them together in a little video so you can see for yourselves how they are coming along and get an idea of their emerging personalities.
We are so happy with this litter and these little individuals. Although it is too early to know how they will move as adults, all signs indicate that they are going to be beautiful movers. But most importantly, we are amazed by their characters. They recover so quickly and readily from startling and they are curious and inquisitive about everything new. The early indications are very promising and we are excited to see what the future brings.
We have named three of the puppies. Girl No. 1 is now Ocerico Feija. Because of the uniquely high percentage of Tunisian bloodlines in this litter, Feija was named after the Foret el Feija in Tunisia. This litter is also a little over 18% desert bred Libyan, another unique feature of this breeding. For that reason, we have named Boy No. 3 Ocerico Fezzan, after the Fezzan region of Libya that is home to the beautiful Wan Caza dunes of the Sahara Desert. Girl No. 2 has been named Ocerico Farjana, an Arabic name that means “beautiful soul,” which perfectly reflects her gentle character and loving disposition.
We have updated their weight chart below. There is a growing differential between the two biggest boys and the rest of the puppies. I expect them to be tall, handsome boys like their father.
Below the weight chart are their 5 week old photos. We got everybody into the best stacks that we could, and they all had their first tastes of cheese for their efforts.
