Describe your current household (people & animals, ages, sex, breed, species)
Who will be primarily responsible for the care of this puppy?
Describe your typical day & lifestyle, including your work schedule, and how a puppy's needs will be met.
Describe your home & yard (location, set up, provisions for the dogs, where dogs sleep, spend their time).
What dogs have you had during your life? What happened to those dogs?
Have you had Sloughis before? If not, why do you want a Sloughi? If you have had a Sloughi, when? What happened to those dogs? Why not go back to that breeder for a puppy?
How will you be housebreaking this puppy?
What do you want in a Sloughi? Be very specific about the sex/appearance, energy levels, your goals & expectations, including behaviors that you would consider unacceptable.
What would happen if this puppy developed physical or behavioral problems that prevented them from meeting these goals?
What do you feed and why? Have you raised a healthy, normal puppy on this diet? Are you willing to follow our feeding recommendations?
What puppy & training classes are available to you locally? Do you plan to start puppy classes?
Do you intend to spay or neuter this dog? Would you do so if it were a condition of placing the puppy with you?
I am primarily interested in a Sloughi for:
Lure Coursing or Non-Commercial Racing
Open Field Coursing
Family Companion Only
Obedience or Rally
Other (dock diving, herding, barn hunts, tracking, etc.)
What else do you plan to do with your Sloughi? (Please feel free to list as many activities as you like)
What is your time frame for acquiring a puppy? We rarely breed more than 1 litter every 2-3 years, so you may have to wait. Are you willing to wait for the right dog?
We participate in the puppy selection for each family, since we know our puppies better than anyone else. If two or more equally suitable puppies are available, then we allow the puppies and you to let us know what's the best match. How do you feel about this? (Note: even if approved, if we do not have a puppy who matches you, we will not sell you a puppy from that litter)
What do you expect from us as your puppy's breeder? Are you willing to stay in close contact with us, openly discuss any training or health problems you have, and agree to return the dog to us should you be unable/unwilling to keep the dog?
We require that all future breeding stock be PRA tested by Optigen. All puppies placed as pets must be spayed or neutered. Are you willing to do this?
What questions/concerns do you have? Please feel free to ask any questions about our dogs.
Please provide references from your vet, your current trainer/instructor, and three friends who know you well in regards to your dog activities. These references will be checked; please provide phone numbers and also mailing and email addresses.
