I returned last night from a whirlwind trip to Washington DC to meet our newest imports from Morocco, Qolt Siham Sahara and Qassam Azur Siham Sahara, who arrived with their sister, Qamilah Siham Sahara. All three made the long journey from El Jadida and are the first Sloughis from Mariana Raposo’s Siham-Sahara Sloughis to come […]
Today is the 11th birthday of our very first litter at Ocerico, our A Litter. On January 29, 2007, we were blessed with six perfect puppies, 3 strapping boys, and 3 beautiful girls by our BIS / Multi BISS GCH Dakir Kaheela de Moreau and out of CH Ya’Richa Nuri al Baida. I will be […]
Some images of the Sloughis from this summer through the second day of Fall, 2017.
On August 3, 2017, we welcomed Sultan al-Atlas, our gorgeous, new black mantled sand boy who came to us all the way from Casablanca. We are grateful to his breeder, Taoufik Kourrate, for entrusting us with this beautiful Sloughi. Below are some images of Sultan and his new friends from his arrival and his first […]
I haven’t had time to do an update since the little ones were about 7 weeks old. They have kept me awfully busy! The puppies are all doing great in their new homes, getting terribly spoiled and enjoying many life adventures. I am including some photos of 9 of them below. I haven’t gotten photos […]
The puppies enjoyed visits this weekend from our friends, Elaine, Donna, Ann and Karen. They also managed to breach the fence to get into the Big Dog Yard where they experienced the pond and the brook. Most Sloughis do not like water, but their mother, Amiass, loves frog hunting, so she has always been happy […]
I worried that we would not be able to take our 7 week photos today because it was quite chilly this afternoon. However, the wind died down and the sun came out and the puppies had a wonderful time in the garden. They are fully mobile now and at least two of them can run […]
The little darlings have organized into a wild pack of thugs. They move en masse like a swarm of bees, devouring everything in their paths and taking no prisoners 😉 Trying to keep them clean is a full time job. They are eating very well now, rather voraciously actually. And they are thoroughly enjoying warm […]
They are not helpless babies anymore! The E litter is running, leaping, playing…and devouring everything in sight! They are eating (and wearing) poached chicken, boiled eggs, stewed lamb, organic millet, and lots and lots of whole goat milk. They are growing by leaps and bounds and they now thoroughly enjoy their outings in the sunshine.
